My latest love seems to be comedy shows. Of the comedy clubs I have visited around Atlanta the Relapse Theatre has become my favorite. Located in the basement of a church, the grungy atmosphere makes it a fun place to hang out. They have two stages. One downstairs and one upstairs. The lower stage is my favorite because small candle-lit tables surround a small stage. The walls are pained with crazy evolution images. They also supply crayons and paper which is just fun. The upstairs stage is a small room filled with uncomfortable plastic chairs ( I prefer the downstairs stage if you can tell.) The improv show 2 Girls 3 Eyes (which is every Friday at 9:30) is easily my favorite show at The Relapse. The troupe of about 7 actors and actresses act out skits based on audience suggestions. Also the Insomniac Improv Show (every Saturday at 11:30) was quite entertaining as well. I would not recommend taking children to shows at the Relapse because there is smoking allowed in the building and the shows are BYOB. Also, the shows can get pretty vulgar. The staff is always very welcoming and fun to talk too. A good time will be had by all if attend the Relapse Theatre.
