If Sublime's catchy beats and reggae tones are pleasing to your ear then Badfish is a band you should definitely check out. Straight out of Rhode Island, Badfish is the leading Sublime tribute band in the United States. Front man Pat Downes's voice perfectly mimics Brad Nowell's in a way that show cases his talent and knowledge of the band. Joel Hanks on bass has a cool, smooth attidude that is hard to ignore, while Scott Begin on drums demands attention with great beats and looks I might add. When I went to see Badfish in Atlanta in November of 2008 my personal favorite thing about the show was Ben Schomp on Keyboards and Trumpet. He was very talented on his instruments but his dancing was a whole other thing. He danced through-out the show, sometimes I quetioned his rhythm yet it was enjoyable none the less. The crowd at the show was also very appealing. The majority were college students and young adults but scattered though out were middle aged married couples. There was a general feeling that everyone was there to enjoy the music and eachother's company. I would not recommend taking children to a Badfish concert because many of Sublime's lyrics revolve around the use of marijuana, and soon after the show began the air was pretty much saturated. I throughly enjoyed myself at the show and I would recommend anyone who has a liking for Sublime to check out Badfish, you won't be disappointed.
